WELCOME TO POTAGER

Multi Award Winner

Potager is the most awarded dining destination in the Northern Rivers

OUR STORY

Potager Restaurant

Since opening for business in March 2016, Potager, set on a small 10-acre farm in Carool’s picturesque countryside, has become a much-loved dining destination for locals and visitors from near and far.

Our promise is to provide people with great food, a relaxed dining experience, excellent service and to showcase the region we live in. We follow a paddock to plate philosophy and whilst we don’t grow everything we serve, we serve everything we grow. For the rest, we attempt to source as much as possible from local providers.

And you’ll find Potager in just a short 20-minute drive from the Gold Coast Airport.

MEET OUR MASTERCHEF

Michael (Mikey) Lee

Mikey is our taste master. Together with his kitchen team, he consistently delights our guests with his culinary talents, with dishes influenced by a variety of cuisines and produce sourced from our own gardens and local providers, like Urliup Mushrooms, or Fair Game Wild Venison.

Originally from Scotland, Mikey now calls the Northern Rivers home. Under Mikey’s leadership, Potager has been awarded a Hat from the Australian Good Food Guide for 4 years running. We’re so glad he made the move to Australia and we love having such a talented chef as part of the Potager family.

Events

Potager events are legendary – particularly our Degustation Dinners. From our annual birthday celebration in March, to Bastille Day, New Years Eve or perhaps a hosted winemaker dinner, these events are always a sell out.

We also love celebrating our local producers. You might meet them at a ‘Meet the Locals lunch’, or perhaps at a ‘Chef and The Forager’ event.  See what we have coming up here

SOME FACTS

Why Choose Us

We’re a small, family-owned business. Community is at the heart of everything we do.

We love this beautiful part of the world we call home and are proud to showcase the Northern Rivers Region.

Most of the revenue we make is re-invested locally. Local potters make the majority of our dining ware. Around 70% of our food expenditure is directly with local suppliers (and much of course grown on our farm). We employ approximately 12 locals, onboard apprentices and trainees, participate in work placement programs and, since opening, have given 15 (and counting) young people their first job whist still at school.

When you dine at Potager, you’re supporting the local Tweed economy and that’s a big thank you from all of us.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land, the people of the Bundjalung Nation and

we pay our respect to their elders past, present and emerging.
